Bio
Ommar Jackson begins his first year on coaching staff for Southern University at New Orleans Baseball as the outfield coach bringing a strong background in player development, analytics, and defensive instruction.
Coach Jackson playing career was at Arkansas Tech University as a defensive specialist for the Wonder Boys baseball program. His playing career was defined by defensive consistency, situational awareness, and a high baseball IQ — traits that now shape his coaching philosophy.
In addition to his collegiate responsibilities, Jackson works with Major League Baseball as a baseball instructor, where he assists in player development initiatives and skill instruction.
Jackson specializes in outfield defense, and overall athletic development. His goal is to build confident, disciplined student-athletes who compete at a high level on and off the field.
