TUSCALOOSA, Ala. [February 25, 2026]— Five players scored in double figures and SUNO shot 64.3 percent from the field as the Knights routed Fisk University 109-84 Wednesday in the second round of the 2026 Hope Credit Union HBCUAC Basketball Championship.
The Knights (15-13) led for all but one sequence the entire game and will face East Division No. 1 seed Stillman College in the quarterfinals Thursday at 6 p.m.
Center Dorian Booker led SUNO with 24 points on 11-of-14 shooting. Guard Aumad Hackett came off the bench to shoot 8-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from three for 21 points in 21 minutes. Wing Jaylon Hicks added 19, guard Caleb Williams 16, and guard Donte Briggs 10.
Fisk took its only lead of the game at 12-11 on a Simeon Williams II layup with 15:37 left in the first half. SUNO responded with a 9-0 run — capped by a Lawrence dunk and back-to-back Hackett threes — and never trailed again.
Fisk trimmed the deficit to seven at 22-29 when Kaleb Jeffries hit a three to tie it at 22 before Hackett buried two more three-pointers in 47 seconds to push the lead to 11. The Knights went into halftime up 49-38.
The Bulldogs made no serious run in the second half. Back-to-back Briggs threes at the 12:08 and 11:21 marks pushed SUNO's lead to 67-52, triggering a 22-4 Knights run that effectively ended the game. Wing Erroll Smith punctuated the surge with a dunk at 7:33, pushing the margin to 85-56. SUNO led by as many as 31.
Jeffries scored 31 points and hit seven threes for Fisk (11-19), but the Bulldogs had no one else capable of challenging SUNO's depth. The Knights dominated in the paint, outscoring Fisk 62-30, and turned the Bulldogs' 18 turnovers into 28 points. The Knights' bench outscored Fisk's reserves 34-18, with Hackett and Smith combining for 29 points off the bench.
Up next is a quarterfinals matchup against the East Division No. 1 seed Stillman College Tigers. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CST at Stillman's Birthright Alumni Hall.
